We Play Circular
This project was created in collaboration during the UX and Prototyping course at Google’s Tech School and Reichman University. My main role involved prototyping and turning research into actionable design solutions.
Complex Systems Design: for Decathlon
Overview
About the Commercial Initiative: We Play Circular
We Play Circular is Decathlon’s sustainable subscription service, offering flexible sports equipment rentals with insurance for damage and theft. Customers can rent, exchange, and return items for inspection and refurbishment.
Target Audience: Families with children seeking gear for hobbies or holidays, and regular athletes looking for equipment to explore or practice various sports.
The Requirement
Designing a complex system for Decathlon employees to support the company’s new subscription service, We Play Circular.
The system needed to address the distinct needs of three key user roles:
Store Employees:
Providing customer service from a fixed workstation.
Store Managers:
Managing inventory, operations, and team coordination.
VP Managers:
Overseeing and strategizing operations across multiple stores.
Store Employee
Sarah manages a high volume of products and information simultaneously while remaining stationed at her post. Her workflow demands a streamlined process that minimizes cognitive load and reduces the need for on-the-spot decision-making. Her key challenge is efficiently assessing the condition of returned items, quickly identifying defects, and updating their status with minimal effort. To support her, the system must provide a step-by-step guided workflow, ensuring clarity and order, while enabling her to focus on maintaining a seamless and consistent customer experience.

Design Approach
The prototype was designed using Decathlon’s Vitamin Design System in Figma to ensure visual consistency and seamless alignment with the brand’s identity and values. Each section of the prototype was meticulously crafted to address the specific needs uncovered during the research phase, providing tailored solutions for each user type, as outlined below.
